In short
Limit your car when someone else drives it, and what stays available to them.
On this page
Valet Mode limits your car when someone else is driving it, such as a valet or a mechanic, and protects your personal information.
Turn it on
- In the car: tap your profile name on the touchscreen, choose the Valet Mode tab, and set a four-digit PIN the first time.
- In the Tesla app: with the car parked, go to Security, then Valet Mode.
What it limits
- Top speed is capped (70 mph by default).
- Autopilot, Full Self-Driving and Smart Summon are disabled.
- The front trunk and glovebox lock. The rear trunk stays open.
- Your addresses, contacts, schedules, and saved navigation locations are hidden.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned off, and voice commands are disabled.
Charging still works, so the person parking your car can plug it in.
Turn it off
You can turn Valet Mode off in the Tesla app.
